Description
Clade 2.3.4.4b highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1) viruses have caused significant outbreaks in avian populations across five continents, with spillover into mammals and sporadic detection of mammalian-adaptive mutations. Human infections have been reported after contact with infected wildlife, raising pandemic concerns.
